For 25 years DreamLand spoke only Russian. Now every room, monster, item, skill and help page is in English and Ukrainian too. It's not three copies of the game: you and a player from Kyiv stand in the same room, fight the same boss, and each of you reads it in your own language.

No cutscenes, no loading screens, nothing to install. The world arrives as text: you read where you are and type what you want. It feels like homework for about five minutes, then it snaps into focus and you forget there was ever a screen. It reads aloud cleanly too, which is why a good share of the regulars here are blind — and they'll still out-level you.

Because it's all text, DreamLand works properly with screen readers. There's a dedicated mode — config screenreader on — nothing important is ever trapped inside ASCII art, and the menus are written to make sense read out loud, not just looked at.
